The album constsist of 4 songs (27 min) and kicks off very peacefully with "My way of endless Grief". That is, for the first minute. After that, the full metal heavens gate breaks open and release a great blessing to my hearing. A great heavy sound with a screaming voice, after a while altered with a clean vocal. Its very melodic and also contains every essence that a black metal band should have."Awake" starts off with a bit of a silly keyboard sound, but is quickly changed into a clean vocal song which continous is a full metal screaming sound. Very well built up and again very melodic.
The EP-title song "Hope and Sorrow" starts with clean vocals and build up to a full metal heavenly experience with a very well fitted guitar solo. The songs rests quietly in the shadow, untill the last song "Tempus Fugit - Part 1" kick off with un unrestfull sound followed by fast and very melodic metal and black vocals. In this song, which is over 10 min, Far Beyond shows itselves from many different faces. Black metal altered with quiet moments. And this is what makes Far Beyond such a fantastic band to listen to. It never bores, very melodic and has a great sound.
A friend of mine told me that this is the music the creatures in heaven dwell on.........

After they released their first full length album "An Angel's Requiem" in 2005 they have produced a new EP called: "Songs of Hope and Sorrow". Personally I have high expectations of this album. Their first album was a blast. Hope this kicks me down also!
