‘Alice Cooper’ Announce ‘Maiden England North American Tour’ & ‘European’ Tour
With a music career that started over 40 years ago, the legendary Alice Cooper is always current and in the forefront of entertainment. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who created the concept of the theatrical rock concert, brings his spectacular stagecraft and flamboyant showmanship to this year’s Bonnaroo Festival June 9th alongside other headline artists Radiohead, Bon Iver, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Alice Cooper, who single-handedly masterminded the rock-horror genre, then joins Iron Maiden as their very special guest on their Maiden England North American Tour from June 21 to July 21. [Dates are listed below].
Said Alice, “I’m very excited that Iron Maiden has asked us to share the stage with them in North America. The last few summers we performed on some Maiden shows, and my band and I and the audiences all had a great time. Both of us on one bill provides the audience with two entirely different shows, and some of Maiden‘s fans may have never seen my show live, so believe me we’re Bringin It!”
When it comes to touring, Cooper provides his fans with a visual and aural extravaganza including everything and more from his trademark guillotines, decapitations, predatory snakes, as well as a non-stop, hard rocking show featuring his classic hits, and other fan favorites.
Alice Cooper’s 2011 album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, which debuted at #22 on Billboard’s Top 200, is a testament to Cooper’s ability to incorporate various collaborations – including global pop superstar Ke$ha – into his own unique musical style.
Alice Cooper’s Welcome 2 My Nightmare is the long-awaited sequel to his 1975 classic Welcome to My Nightmare. The original album was a landmark album for Cooper. It was his first solo release, following a historic string of anthems written and recorded by his original band between 1971 and 1974, including “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Elected,” and “I’m Eighteen.” Welcome to My Nightmare is an all-time rock classic that spawned a worldwide theatrical tour and pioneered a U.S. TV special, and certified Alice Cooper as a visionary trailblazer, whose influence continues today in rock, metal, pop, punk, theatre, television, film and much more.
Earlier this week, Cooper announced the nominees for Revolver Magazine’s Golden God Awards in Los Angeles. Last year, Cooper received Revolver’s “Golden God” award, a special recognition given to one special artist each year who represents metal and hard rock.
Before Alice embarks on tour, he sits down with VH1’s That Metal Show’s Eddie Trunk for a one-on-one conversation about his legacy as well and his current album and tour, air date TBC.
Alice is also the host of Nights with Alice Cooper, a 5-hour nightly radio show offering listeners a block of classic rock music, features and interviews delivered to affiliates via satellite six nights per week. The show debuted in January 2004 and is now in its 9th year on the air. Nights with Alice Cooper is a production of the United Stations Radio Network and is broadcast on more than 110 stations in the U.S., Canada, the UK and Australia, and is also supported by an active social network of Alice’s “Minions,” who participate along with Alice and the radio show via Facebook and Twitter.
